Annie felt called to create an alcohol-free space in her hometown after her oldest sister, Whitney (“Winnie”), passed due to struggles with alcoholism. The space is intended to be a safe, welcoming space for all to gather, create, and be inspired – sans alcohol. Whitney had wanted to own a clothing store one day and loved fashion, which brought the idea to add the clothing portion to the bar. Together, the clothing + drinks create an innovative, sustainable business, allowing us to provide a much-needed third space to the community. Our intention is to bring more joy and help influence a healthier, more connected community.

Meet the Owner
Annie Krage, the founder of Winnie’s, grew up in Sioux City, IA. Annie graduated from the University of Iowa with an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree in 2023. She switched careers to entrepreneurship not long after graduation, opening Winnie’s in 2025. Being a lover of sustainable fashion, creative hospitality, and vintage everything, Winnie’s brings together many of Annie’s passions and values. She developed the drink menu with careful intention — from the liver-cleansing Lioness and mood-boosting seasonal Glow drink, to all the small, independent brands found in the to-go cooler. Annie is also responsible for the clothing curation; she aims to find items for all eras, styles, and sizes and loves every minute of it!
